"La Pepa"

Yesterday I went with my mate Rafa to see the Galeon Andalucia, re-named now "La Pepa", docked at the Grao harbour. A replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon used during the Galleon Trade between Manila and Acapulco.

The Galéon Andalucía is made from pine, oak and iroko, a kind of hardwood sometimes referred to as African teak. It's 49 meters long and features a 10.10-meter beam with four masts for seven sails. It weighs about 495 tons and has 12 cast-iron cannons.

Actually the galleon is the ambassador of the Bicentenary of the Constitution in 1812 and is on a tour through the main Spanish ports.
